Early Career Investigator Symposium – Call for Abstracts

We invite you to submit an abstract to the Early Career Investigator Symposium for AAPM POWV 2025 Fall Symposium

Why participate in the ECIS?

The ECIS allows you the opportunity to present your research in front of local experts in the field. Judges will rate your performance based on content, communication, and engagement. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 speakers: 1st place = $500, 2nd place = $200, 3rd place = $100.

Meeting information

  • Date: September 20, 2025
  • Event Address: Oglebay Resort Pine Room, 1637 Waddington Dr, Wheeling, WV 26003
  • Speaker guidelines: In-person, ~7 min in length. Speakers are expected to be present for Q&A.

Submission information

  • Eligibility:
    • Post-doctoral fellow
    • Medical physics resident or fellow
    • Graduate or undergraduate student
    • Junior faculty member (i.e. < 5 years experience and no prior substantial grant-funding as a PI).
    • Research focus must be related to medical physics. 
  • Deadline: August 25, 2025
  • Abstract format: Open format, 250 word limit.
  • Dispositions will be sent to applicants by August 29, 2025.
